Martin Ludwig’s short film, Stupor, is among the best suspense thrillers put to film in recent time. It doesn’t rely on cheap stunts or gory visuals. Instead, everything is told in a serene setting of a quiet bathroom. A man wakes up in the tub, unable to move. The faucet’s on and the drain is plugged. As the water slowly creeps upward, the protagonist tries everything he can to move his body enough to save his life. There are no words. All the emotions are seen through his eyes. It will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last second, like all great thrillers do.
