Videos: Björk debuts Biophilia live

on June 28, 2011, 4:34pm

Last night, in the first of her seven-date residency at the Manchester International Festival, Björk offered an extensive preview of her forthcoming album, Biophilia. According to Bjorkspain.com, the Icelandic singer performed 10 new songs, including “Thunderbolt”, “Moon”, the leaked single “Crystalline”, “Hollow”, “Dark Matter”, “Virus”, “Sacrifice”, “Mutal Core”, “Cosmogony”, and “Solstice”. In fact, if you believe the yet-to-be-confirmed tracklist posted by Culture Pop, the entire new album was performed.

So far, only a few live clips have made their way onto the web, but they do offer a decent glimpse at what’s in store. Highlights include a dancing choir, an insane video setup, and Björk’s new hairdo. It also looks as if that 30 foot pendulum that harnesses the earth’s gravitational pull to create musical patterns made an appearance.

According to Vulture, Biophilia will see release on September 26th. We’ll post more details and videos as soon as they become available.
