wild flag Wild Flag announces debut album, fall tour

Wild Flag, the all-female super group featuring former Sleater-Kinney members Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss, ex-Helium frontgirl Mary Timony, and former Minders keyboardist Rebecca Cole, are finally ready to unleash their debut album. The self-titled effort will hit stores September 13th via Merge Records.

After first debuting some of the material during a small West coast club tour last fall, as well as at an appearance at this year’s South by Southwest, the band laid down the tracks at Sacramento’s The Hangar with engineer Chris Woodhouse in April of 2011. A tracklist is still forthcoming, but you won’t have to wait long for the album’s lead single — New York radio station WMFU will premiere “Romance”, tomorrow, June 18th. Below, you can also check out a stream for the Record Store Day release of “Glass Tambourine”; a reworked version of the track will appear on the album.

In support of the release, Wild Flag have mapped out a North American tour for this fall. Their complete tour schedule is posted below.
