The image in a family portrait is almost always an illusion. It’s meant to show the happy, loving family that sticks together. But in reality, every family has tensions and arguments bubbling beneath the surface. In the case of Joseph Pierce’s short film, A Family Portrait, this household starts to fall apart secrets and jealousy bubble to the surface. The family’s average appearance slowly turns into nightmare fuel, as their problems spill out against each other.
