When Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros’ Alex Ebert up and went solo, his debut, Alexander, featured the whimsical track “Truth”. A contagious piece of musical workmanship, it’s full of booming bass, falsetto vocals, and, of course, some mighty impressive whistling. Now, that powerful little ditty is riding the coattails of its inclusion in last night’s Breaking Bad premiere with a remix featuring Wu-Tang Clan maestro RZA and a cinematic music video. The remix is a lot more sultry and hardcore thanks to Bobby Digital’s slang, while the video is Cast Away as if a crazed hippie had been cast instead of the always-delightful Tom Hanks. All in all, it appears the truth ain’t so bad.
Check out both the remix and video below. Alexander is out now via Community Music.
