Festivals in Brief: Lollapalooza, Via Pittsburgh, Way Out West

DELUNA FEST 2011

When/Where: October 13-16 in Pensacola Beach, FL

KANSROCKSAS

When/Where: August 5-6 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, KS

What’s New: Kaskade, Rival Sons, 12th Planet, UME, Treasure Fingers, Doomtree, and Gardens & Villa

Who Else is Playing: Eminem, Muse, The Black Keys, Kid Cudi, The Flaming Lips, Cage the Elephant, OK Go, Ellie Goulding, Flogging Molly, STS9 and Ween

Tickets: $179 two-day GA tickets and $99 single-day GA tickets available via the festival’s website.

Lollapalooza

When/Where: August 5-7 at Grant Park in Chicago, IL

What’s New: The Cool Kids (replacing Jay Electronica), Little Hurricane

Who Else is Playing: Eminem, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Muse, My Morning Jacket, Deadmau5, Bright Eyes, Arctic Monkeys, Big Audio Dynamite, Deftones, and Beirut

Tickets: Three-day passes are sold-out, but $90 one-day tickets remain on sale via the festival’s website.

PITCHFORK MUSIC FESTIVAL PARIS

When/Where: October 28-29 at Grande Halle De La Villette in Paris, France

Who’s Playing: Bon Iver, Cut Copy, Jens Lekman, Wild Beasts, Kathleen Edwards, and Pantha Du Prince, with more acts to be announced

Tickets: € 79.90 two-day GA passes are now available here.

POPPED! MUSIC FESTIVAL

When/Where: September 23-24 at FDR Park in Philadelphia, PA

What’s New: Yuck, Tennis, ?uestlove (DJ set)

Who Else is Playing: The Shins, Panda Bear, Girl Talk, Cults, The Hold Steady, Cage the Elephant, Pretty Lights, and The Pains of Being Pure At Heart

Tickets: $59.50 single day tickets, $110 GA two-day pass, and $200 VIP two-day passes are now available via the festival’s website.

RIFFLANDIA MUSIC FESTIVAL

When/Where: September 22-25 in Victoria, British Columbia

What’s New: Gomez, Cold War Kids, Sage Francis, Jets Overhead, Mother Mother, Elliot Lipp, KO, Lyrics Born, Nosaj Thing, and Hollerado

Who Else is Playing: Broken Social Scene, De La Soul, City and Colour, J. Mascis, Ra Ra Riot, Blackalicious, Suuns, The Cave Singers, The Besnard Lakes, and Braids

SOUNDLAND

When/Where: September 21-24 in Nashville, TN

VIA PITTSBURGH

When/Where: October 6-8 in Pittsburgh, PA

Who’s Playing: Battles, Four Tet, Zombi, Toy Sellectah, Dam-Funk, Austra, Danny Brown, Blondes, and Light Asylum

VOODOO EXPERIENCE

Where/When: October 28-30 in New Orleans, LA

What’s New: Snoop Dogg, The Wombats, and Lost Bayou Ramblers with Gordon Gano

Who Else is Playing: Soundgarden, Blink-182, Social Distortion, My Chemical Romance, Dr. John, A-Trak, Girl Talk, Portugal. The Man, Ray Davies, Cheap Trick, and Mates of State
