Pretty Lights announces fall tour dates

on July 19, 2011, 11:40am

Working in the electronic music scene can be a taxing — if not sleepless — lifestyle, for sure, but if your name happens to be Derek Vincent Smith, then it’s all just second nature. The Colorado-based beatsmith better known as Pretty Lights has released a sum of nearly 10 free EPs and LPs since 2006’s Taking Up Your Precious Time. Now, he’s announced that after supporting his latest effort — last year’s Glowing In the Darkest Night EP — with an exhausting set of summer festival dates, he will continue the trend on a long string of fall gigs.

The itinerary first finds Smith joining some of the biggest names in his genre for Identity Festival stops from Tampa to The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington state. He then kicks off United States headlining dates with a show at the Grand Sierra Theatre in Reno, NV on September. Along the way, he’ll also play a pair of co-headlining dates with Bassnectar in Georgia.

A video summary of Smith’s recent experience at Bonnaroo debuting a brand new stage show – set to new track, “I Know the Truth” – is streaming below. Smith’s complete itinerary is after that.
