Cee-Lo Green is a lot of things. A Lady Killer. A member of the infamous Goodie Mob. A great judge of talent and character. Now, add one more attribute to that list: Raekwon‘s dad in an upcoming biopic of the Wu-Tang Clan member. SAY WHAT?!
Rae confirmed the news with XXL.com, saying the script for the tentatively-titled film C.R.E.A.M. was almost finished and that casting was about 60% completed. In a tweet from earlier today, Green also shared confirmation of the news, writing, “News flash: I CEELO GREEN will be playing the ‘FATHER’ OF RAEKWON THE CHEF in his new biography on his life! NOW THAT’S HIP-HOP for ya!” As for why he chose Green to play one of his parental units, Rakewon said, “[He’s] a good friend of mine. When I called him and told him about it he was just overwhelmed. He’s just one out of the greats that’s gonna be on the project.”
No word yet on any other casting choices or when the film will hit theaters, so stay tuned for more info as it’s announced.
