For “Somebody That I Used To Know”, it’s all about body painting. The music video by Natasha Pincus features a nude Gotye as he becomes part of a shape-based drawing. Body art slowly spreads over his skin as he sings, blending him into the background. After a couple minutes, you realize that guest singer Kimbra has been painted to match the wall as well. It’s an imaginative, painstakingly-assembled, colorful piece of art.
Gotye’s third studio album, Making Mirrors, is currently available through Eleven Records.
