These days everybody and their mother are making music in bedrooms and basements. Having loftier aspirations, Portland, OR dream-pop act Blouse prefer the confines of a warehouse. And while it’s just another room, the change in scenery makes all the difference in a track like “Videotapes”, the lead single from the outfit’s upcoming self-titled debut.

The woozy, somber number has your standard synth baseline, but feels decidedly more romantic than offering’s from the group’s counterparts. And bonus points for those who notice a Unknown Mortal Orchestra-esque vibe; the two bands share bassist Jacob Portrait, who also produced Blouse.
