American Express’ “Unstaged” online concert series continues. This time, they’ve tagged Coldplay for their sixth installment. On October 26th, two days after the release of their fifth studio LP, Mylo Xyloto, Chris Martin and the gang will perform at Madrid’s Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, which will be streamed all across the world via VEVO/YouTube.
Filmmaker Anton Corbijn (Control, The American) will direct the show, continuing the series’ tradition of pairing artists with some of film’s finest. Yet, Corbijn is no stranger to the field. The London native has a lengthy resume involving the likes of Joy Division, Depeche Mode, U2, and even Coldplay at one time.
Anton Corbijn has been a big hero to us for a long long time so we’re thrilled to be beaming this concert out to the world through his lens,” Chris Martin says in a press release. “We cant wait to share this experience with him and with all of our fans watching American Express Unstaged around the world. It’s going to be big.
The event takes place on October 26th at 4:00PM ET /1:00PM PT at Coldplay’s VEVO Channel. For those interested in attending the performance, tickets will be available for American Express Cardmembers through an exclusive pre-sale on October 7th at 9:00 AM CEST via www.Ticketmaster.es.
Mylo Xyloto hits streets October 25th via Capitol Records. Below, you can watch the band perform “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” at Glastonbury 2011.
