Quoteworthy: Yeasayer previews next album(s)

on October 06, 2011, 5:44pm
“It’s like an Aaliyah album if you played it backwards and slowed it down. Or David Bowie’s Lodger. Those two are major influences.”

– Chris Keating, frontman of Brooklyn psych-pop crew Yeasayer, previews the band’s upcoming third album in an interview with SPIN. Keating also adds that the group has already recorded 22 songs, which may be split up over two separate albums, “one that’s the real album with three-and-a-half to four minute pop songs, and another that’s more like a soundtrack and released on the internet.” One way or another, expect to see something in late spring or early summer of 2012.
