Festival Outlook recap: South by Southwest, Coachella, Golden Plains

Consequence of Sound‘s Festival Outlook is an online database featuring the latest news, rumors, and ticket information for the world’s many music festivals. Sometimes, though, it’s hard to keep up with everything. So, this is where our weekly recap feature comes in.

This past week brings lineup news for a number of 2012 music festivals, including Australia’s Golden Plains, Montreal’s igloofest, and Michigan’s Ann Arbor Folk Festival. In addition, South by Southwest revealed another batch of 2012 acts and UK’s Download Festival unearthed its first two headliners. Plus, we have some more rumors for Coachella 2012.

Ann Arbor Folk Festival:

When/Where: January 27-28th at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Official Lineup: Ryan Adams, Emmylou Harris, Glenn Campbell, DeVotchKa, Company of Thieves, Dawes, and more

Tickets: One-day ($35 & $47.50) and two-day ($60 and $85) passes are now available via the festival’s website

Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival:

When/Where: April 13-15th and 20-22nd at Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California

Expected: ASAP Rocky, Keep Shelly in Athens

Rumored: Radiohead, No Doubt, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Young the Giant, The Head and the Heart, Kasabian, Grouplove, Band of Skulls

Download Festival:

When/Where: June 8-1oth at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England

Official Lineup: Metallica performing The Black Album, Black Sabbath

Tickets: £190 five-day and £180 three-day festival passes go on sale Friday, November 18th via the festival’s website

Golden Plains:

When/Where: March 10-12th at Meredith Supernatural Ampitheatre in Victoria, Australia

Official Lineup: Bon Iver, Wild Flag, DJ/rupture, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy & The Cairo Gang, Black Lips, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Roky Erikson, Urge Overkill, and Roots Manuva

igloofest:

When/Where: January 12-28th at Old Port of Montreal

Snowbombing:

When/Where: April 9-14th in Mayrhofen, Austria
