Audiography: Episode 022: “Auroboros”

on December 28, 2011, 1:57pm

On this edition of Audiography, Consequence of Sound Research Editor Len Comaratta talks with Auroboros, a new DC metal band that is already burning up the internet with buzz over their soon to be released debut EP. Comprised of Brian Blickle, formerly of Baroness and Accursed Dawn, Jake Smith of Gnarlwolf, Salome’s Rob Moore, and Tommy Parry on drums, it’s easy to see why there is so much anticipation for their recording.

The band took Comaratta into Cue Studios in Falls Church, VA, as guitarist Smith improvised on his guitar to create an additional layer of textural elements intended for one song on the aforementioned EP. As Smith worked, the rest of the band slammed down whiskey and beers. Afterwards, everyone sat down and discussed the upcoming release, the band’s incredible pedigree, and making music that goes against the grain.

More information and music is available on the band’s Facebook and Bandcamp pages.
