Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Tunde Adebimpe, Bear in Heaven to play Jonathan Toubin benefit

on December 14, 2011, 11:52am

In an effort to lend a hand, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Stabbing Eastward (TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe and Tall Firs’ Ryan Sawyer), Royal Baths, and several other familiar faces will come together at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl this Friday to benefit DJ Jonathan Toubin.

Last week, the Brooklyn DJ was critically injured in an unbelievable car accident in Portland, which involved a taxi crashing into his hotel room. As Portland Police Officer Stuart Palmiter reported (via New York Daily News), “[Toubin] was literally stuck under the front of the car.” Toubin had been in town for the “I’ve Got a Hole in My Soul 5th Anniversary Party” at Portland club Rotture. Reports indicate Toubin remains at the hospital in critical condition.

In addition to the aforementioned, the Brooklyn Bowl lineup will consist of rotating DJ’s throughout the night, including Butthole Surfer’s Gibby Haynes, Norton Records’ Billy Miller, Bear In Heaven, and Leo Fitzpatrick, Habibi, and Slowdance. Tickets are currently available and priced from $25 to $100 dollars. All proceeds will go to assisting Toubin’s medical bills.
