Grimes curates New York City art exhibit

Later this month, bedroom pop visionary Claire Boucher — AKA Grimes — will stage her very own art exhibition at New York City’s Audio Visual Arts Gallery.

Running March 23-25th, the exhibit will present “insight into the worlds, both tangible and ephemeral, behind [her new album] Visions” with “a collection of Boucher’s paintings and drawings from the past few years – accompanied by works from two other Canadian artists, specially selected by Boucher for the show – highlighting Grimes’s multifaceted nature not only as a musician but also as an audio-visual artist and curator of culture,” according to an issued press release.

In addition, the second night of the exhibit will feature a silent auction, where fans can bid on an exclusive, original Grimes piece, with proceeds benefiting Sisters In Spirit, an organization which raises awareness of violence against Aboriginal women.

Boucher plans to stage similar exhibits in her hometown of Montreal, as well as in Vancouver and London. Below, watch her new video for “Oblivion”.
