Yesterday, during the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, Janelle Monáe performed her rendition of The Jackson 5’s I Want You Back”. The Monáe version stays faithful to the original, with bubbly, romantic vocals nearly identical to our fab five of yesteryear, only there’s this laid-back, air of abandonment to the supporting string and horn work.
