The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2012 was formally inducted on Saturday night. Now, you can watch clips from the ceremony, including performances by Guns N’ Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as a tribute to Beastie Boys.
With Axl Rose choosing to boycott the band’s induction, Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy joined the rest of Guns N’ Roses for a three-song performance of “Mr. Brownstone”, “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, and “Paradise City”.
Ex-guitarist John Frusciante was nowhere to be found, but Red Hot Chili Peppers did reunite with former drummers Jack Irons and Cliff Martinez for a three-song performance of “By the Way,” “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie”, and “Give It Away”. The Peppers also invited Slash, Rolling Stones/Faces’ Ronnie Wood, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, and George Clinton for an all-star finale of Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground”.
Due to MCA’s absence, Beastie Boys chose not to perform. Instead, The Roots paid tribute to the legendary tribute by teaming with Kid Rock and Travie McCoy for a medley of classic tracks.
A special two-and-a-half hour broadcast of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will air May 5th on HBO.
