summer camp 2012 Check Out: Summer Camp Life

Last November, London pop duo Summer Camp released their debut album, Welcome To Condale, earning our respect with their retro, beach-ready tunes. On July 10th, the pair will return with a follow-up EP, Always, via Apricot Recording Company/Moshi Moshi.

The first track to surface off the EP, “Life”, sees the group moving in a less bubbly direction, pairing a simple, morose synth line with Elizabeth Sankey’s banshee-like calls of cold and darkness. Still, they haven’t left the sunshine for good, as the track tends to swell toward dance-y aspirations and packs a chorus about the thawing power of true love. Stream it below (via Stereogum).

The band also have several upcoming UK club shows and festival gigs, which you can find mapped out below.
