It took a few failed Circle Jerks reunions and four EPs, but hardcore supergoup OFF! finally released their first full length earlier this month. It’s a 16 song, 15 minute (960 seconds to be exact, as our own Len Comaratta points out) punch to the gut that’ll have past and present punks everywhere moshing their asses off all summer long. For those of you who won’t be able to catch them on tour, do the next best thing and check out the video below, which contains live footage from the band’s recent record release show at L.A.’s famous Whiskey a Go Go.
In our recent interview with lead singer Keith Morris, he stated “we live in times where the average attention span is a little bit larger than an ashtray or a garbage compactor or a blue recycle bin, an empty bottle.” This was of course in reference to OFF!’s penchant for extremely short song lengths. How short, you might ask? Well, here we can see album cuts “I’ve Got News For You” and “Borrow and Bombs,” clocking in at well under two minutes total. And that’s including 20 seconds of pre-song banter. Thankfully, what the songs lack in expansiveness they make up for with furious intensity.
OFF! is out now via Vice Records.
