New Music: Milk Music – “Violence Now”

Drawing from disparate influences like Husker Du, Neil Young, and Jimi Hendrix, Olympia, WA-based outfit Milk Music‘s learned lo-fi thrashes through analog tape like an SST demo from the 1980’s. Case in point is this recently-released version of “Violence Now” (originally released as part of a split with Carrie Keith of Gun Outfit). Alex Coxen’s yowls barely crowd-surf above the heavily distorted guitars and chugging cymbals, but you’ll be too busy moshing at your desk to pay attention to what he’s saying. Check it out below.

The band’s latest self-released EP, Beyond Living, is out now. Plans are in the works for a proper LP due sometime this year, but in the meantime, you can catch Milk Music on tour this summer. Find the full schedule below.
