Today, Paul McCartney turns 70 years old. To celebrate, another Paul (and fellow Brit), Paul Weller, covered The Beatles’ tongue-in-cheek masterpiece, “Birthday”. It’s always been an over-the-top anthem, but Weller packs in even more theatrics, complete with horns and keys. Stream it now at RollingStone.com.

“I wanted to do something for Paul’s 70th,” Weller told Rolling Stone. “The man’s been, and still is, an immense and enduring inspiration for me. It was him and his three friends that made me want to pick up a guitar in the first place,” said Weller. “I saw him play live recently and he inspired me just as much as ever, he was brilliant. I just hope he likes our little version, a token of my and the band’s love for him and his music.”

The cover is available for one-day only exclusively through Amazon.com, with proceeds benefiting War Child organization.
