Following last April’s split LP with noise experimentalist Henry Barnes, Brooklyn lo-fi folk rockers Woods will return on September 18th with their second release of 2012. Bend Beyond will serve as the proper follow-up to 2011’s Sun and Shade, and will be released through frontman Jeremy Earl’s Woodsist Records.
Named after the sprawling track that’s been heavily featured in their live show of late, Bend Beyond is the band’s first album to feature a live drummer, Aaron Neveu of New Hampshire psych rockers Mmoss. It will also mark Jarvis Taveniere’s transition from mulit-instrumentalist to full-time guitarist. Along with shifts in the line-up, the album’s recording sessions saw the band move away from their usually fast-paced approach, dedicating more time and effort in-studio to capturing their output as a live unit.
In support of the effort, the band will hit the road this fall with Peaking Lights. Check out the full tour docket below, along with a performance of the title track from July 2011.
