Update: A rep for Nelson says he’s “feeling better after canceling a weekend performance and will be back on the road,” reports the Associated Press.
Willie Nelson canceled his appearance at a show in Castle Pines Village, CO on Sunday night, a town 21 miles south of Denver. According to 9News NBC in Denver, an announcement was made to those in attendance at the show that Nelson, 79, was “suffering from breathing problems due to the high altitude and emphysema” and taken to a nearby hospital.
Nelson was scheduled to appear at fundraiser for the Dumb Friends League, a Denver-area Humane Society Animal Shelter.
9News reported there was no comment from a spokesperson from the promoters, AEG Live. We have reached out to representatives of Nelson for more details on his condition.
