Last week, we posted a breakdown of a mix that Geologist (Brian Weitz) played on Animal Collective Radio, just before Animal Collective debuted their latest album, Centipede Hz. The mix, filled with musical signposts from around the globe, was intent on steering listeners past the globulous, alien sounds on the surface of AnCo’s songs, and highlighting the roots of their influences.

As part of Animal Collective Radio and a partnership with The Creator’s Project, Avey Tare (David Portner), Panda Bear (Noah Lennox), Deakin (Josh Dibb), and Weitz sat down and spoke about that moment when the musical palate expands, how FM radio influenced the their tone and pacing, and more bands that inspired Animal Collective Radio and Centipede Hz. Check out the interview below.

The video is the second installment in a series of interviews from The Creators Project, featuring the band discussing Animal Collective Radio and Centipede Hz. You can watch first interview here with Geologist.
