West Palm Beach isn’t a destination commonly known for the quality of its noise feedback, but local five-piece The Band In Heaven’s brand of dark, sludgy shoegaze echoes in stark contrast to the Sunshine State’s reputation. Their newest single, “Summer Bummer”, reverberates with riffs that drive nearly clean, catchy lines that bury indiscernible vocals as reliably as the tide of their beach town. The moon undoubtedly plays a part in The Band In Heaven’s summer seance in the song’s video, which culminates in a Blair Witch final scene that’s not actually quite as scary as the buildup.
