Crystal Castles dropped “Plague” over the summer, and now they’ve returned with its spine-tingling video just in time for the Halloween season. Director Ivan Grbin fleshes out the song’s vacuum synths with what appears to be a possession story straight out of 70’s cinema. It’s unbelievably jarring — which, admittedly, says a lot given this desensitized writer — and might just trump John Landis’ An American Werewolf in London for the creepiest scene set in a subway system. Let’s just hope this actress didn’t have to do too many takes.
“Plague” will appear on Crystal Castles’ forthcoming third studio effort, reportedly due out November.
