Mumford and Sons participated in a Daytrotter session during their recent North American tour and the recording is now available to download digitally. Of particular highlight are two heavyweight covers: Bruce Springsteen’s gripping Nebraska narrative “Atlantic City” and Bob Dylan’s s own reinterpretation of the traditional “Nine Hundred Miles” (retitled “I Was Young When I Left Home”), which was issued on The Bootleg Series Vol. 7: No Direction Home: The Soundtrack.
The rest of the eight-track session includes covers of “Partner Nobody Chose” by Guy Clark, “Reincarnation” by Roger Miller, “Angel Band” by Ralph Stanley, and “Not in Nottingham” from the Disney movie Robin Hood (!) It was recorded on the Mumford and Sons tour bus and features appearances from Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith and Abigail Washburn.
