New Music: Guided by Voices She Lives in an Airport

Guided by Voices will release The Bears for Lunch, their third studio album of 2012, on November 13th (and yes, that’s the album artwork above). Our first handful of trail mix off the album comes with “She Lives in an Airport”, the would-be sequel to Steven Spielberg’s The Terminal based on title alone marches forward with sludgy boots that follow Robert Pollard’s patrolling storytelling, as he indicates: “The frequent arrivals make my destination destiny.”

“[It] has a great lyric and tempo,” Sprout told Rolling Stone. “Listen to it two to three times with headphones and you’ll be hooked, even without a chorus.”

It’s ultimately a catchy stroll, which bodes well for Bears, considering Sprout stressed, “It’s certainly not the poppiest song on the album and it doesn’t even really have a chorus.” See what you think for yourself over at
