Earlier today, a Moscow appellate court postponed Pussy Riot‘s hearing after Yekaterina Samutsevich fired her defence lawyer, Violetta Volkova. According to The New York Times, Samutsevich dropped her defense over “disagreements,” which has led the court to adjourn the three members’ hearing until October 10th.

“My position in the criminal case does not coincide with their position,” Samutsevich offered in her statement. In addition to Volkova, Samutsevich also no longer wants representation by two other defense lawyers: Mark Feygin and Nicholoas Polozova.

Originally, the hearing was to reaccess last month’s verdict, which found the three Pussy Riot members – Samutsevich, Maria Alyokhina, and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova — guilty of hooliganism and sentenced to two years in prison. Last week, the three members gave an exclusive in-prison interview with GQ, which you can read here.
