Blink-182 will celebrate the holidays with a new EP. It’ll mark the band’s first release since leaving their Interscope Records and serves as the follow-up to their 2011 reunion album Neighborhoods.

Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge revealed the news on Twitter yesterday.”We’re releasing some new blink-182 songs in a few weeks. Watch this space,” tweeted Hoppus. “New Blink EP for x mas . . . :),” added DeLonge.

In a recent interview with Rhythms, Travis Barker said the band will look to build on Neighborhoods for their forthcoming material. “I feel like the best is yet to come, the next album is going to be exciting. For the most part the last album was recorded in different studios, we weren’t always in the same room. We made it happen and it was the best it could be at the time with us three. I think in the future it can be crazy.”

Speaking with KROQ, DeLonge promised a new album by the end of 2013. “We’re going to write through the end of this year and the beginning of next year, and start recording for real with quotes around for real in February after we get back from going to Australia for the tour there.”
