free energy Video: Free Energy Dance All Night (CoS Premiere)

Free Energy singer Paul Sprangers previously said the band’s sophomore album Love Sign was heavily influenced by Tom Petty. Now, the video for lead single “Dance All Night” reveals another cherished bit of nostalgia: ’90s teenage-sex-and-booze comedies.

The video is culled entirely from clips of Can’t Hardly Wait, the 1998 flick starring a damn-she’s-fine Jennifer Love Hewitt as the object of Ethan Embry’s forlorn affections. It’s a fitting choice, considering if you replace the name “Hailey” in the lyrics with “Amanda Beckett,” you’d pretty much have the movie’s perfect theme song. Relive Seth Green blow-drying his crotch and Sabrina the Teenage Witch begging for yearbook signatures below.

After the viewing party, stream other album tracks “Electric Fever”, “Hangin'”, and “Street Survivor”, then pre-order Love Sign, out January 15th on the band’s own Free People.
