While much of R&B crooner Miguel’s latest album Kaleidiscope Dream features songs about loving on girls and then doing drugs with them, he stands up for his fellow man in the protest anthem “Candle In The Sun”. In its corresponding black-and-white video, the singer’s impassioned performance is paired with a montage of affecting images from a close-up of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to an interracial couple holding hands. Watch it below.
“It’s so easy to ignore what’s right in front of us sometimes,” Miguel said in a statement. “I wanted to create a song and visual that addressed my everyday concerns of life as I know it in the world that we live in.”
