In the music video for “I Am Not Waiting Anymore”, the pensive and poignant lyricism of Wisconsin folk-rockers Field Report comes to life. Using the band’s stark, chilly hometown of Milwaukee as his backdrop, director Manny Marquez pieces together poetic scenes which tell the story of a homeless man’s road to redemption, recovery and normalcy.
According to Field Report’s Chris Porterfield, the track was one of the last to be written for the band’s 2012 self-titled debut album. Commenting on Marquez’s interpretation of it, he says, “The video treatment that Manny and his team gave it created a whole new rich narrative layer while staying true to the theme, which I feel is that, when you give your ghosts permission to stop haunting, you can take the next step forward.” Watch the moving tale below.
In related news, the band will be hitting the road next month in continued support of their debut. Find their full docket below, which include stops at the Savannah Stopover festival and South by Southwest (speaking of which, have you RSVPed to CoSigns II?).
