CoSigned New York rockers SKATERS are celebrating their recent signing to Warner Bros. Records with the re-release of their excellent single, “I Wanna Dance (But I Don’t Know How)”, on April 7th. They’re also celebrating the Chinese New Year with the track’s new video.

Those paying attention to the calendar that came stapled to their last order of Moo Shi pork may know we entered the year of the Snake on February 10th. What some might not know, however, is that those dragon-like costumes they cheered for during the parade are actually lion demons known as Nian who come out at the New Year to eat little kids (Learned!). To save the wee ones, people either place food outside their doors or get all t’ai chi on the demon’s tail. In this instance, the one-eyed protagonist chose crane kicks over moo goo gai pan.

With the single (b/w “Armed”) due in April, SKATERS will kick off a tour beginning with a few gigs at South by Southwest (ahem: will it be worth it?). See their full itinerary down yonder.
