Queens of the Stone Age have just updated their website to reveal a June release date for their next studio album, the long-awaited followup to 2007’s Era Vulgaris. What’s more, if you click the ‘Q’ on the band’s website, you’ll hear what are presumably snippets from the album. Note: You’ll need to refresh the page in order to hear a new snippet.
Update: We can confirm that the new album is titled …Like Clockwork and will be released in June through the band’s new label, Matador Records. Yes, Queens of the Stone Age have signed to Matador Records (!)
As previously reported, the as-yet-titled album will feature contributions from Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Nick Oliveri, Elton John, Scissor Sisters Jake Shears, Mark Langegan, and Brody Dalle, among others.
The band is scheduled to appear at a number of European festivals this summer, before returning to North America in August for an appearance at Canada’s Squamish Valley Music Festival.
