CoSigned Los Angeles garage-rock duo Deap Vally will release their debut full-length, Sistrionix, in June through Island Records/Communion. The album marked the first time the duo wrote music apart from one another, with guitarist/vocalist Lindsey Troy in London and drummer Julie Edwards back in LA. They then reunited in their hometown to record the 12-track effort alongside producer Lars Stalfors (The Mars Volta, Matt & Kim).

Troy described the process in an interview with DIY:

“…we were sending each other ideas, emailing each other voice memos and stuff. And that was the start of some of the newer songs on the album, that we ended up finishing when I got back to LA. Songs always change anyway. One of us will have an idea, the other will have another idea… We definitely write most of our songs by jamming, flushing everything out until we complete it. Some of our songs are born out of a jam, but a lot of times we bring stuff, ideas that we already have to each other. So it wasn’t weird or anything like that. It worked out.”

The album will arrive in the UK on June 24th (a U.S. release date is forthcoming). It will be preceded by the single “Baby I Call Hell” on June 17th. Below, you watch the video for past single “Lies”.
