Public Image Ltd. announce first-ever U.S. pressing of their 1978 debut First Issue

on April 02, 2013, 3:40pm

The always charming and not-at-all-overrated John Lydon will finally see his 1978 debut album for Public Image Ltd. receive an American pressing. As Slicing Up Eyeballs reports, First Issue will hit stores on June 18th via Light in the Attic Records with an assortment of goodies to make up for the, oh, 35 year delay.

The album will be available on 180-gram vinyl or as a double-CD. The LP comes housed in a gatefold jacket with a replica poster and newspaper advertisement, two stickers, a lyrics insert, and a download card for the full album, B-side “The Cowboy Song”, and an unedited BBC audio interview with Lydon circa 1978. The latter, however, includes the album, the B-side, and the radio interview, but only a couple of stickers.

For PiL savants that already own the album, there will be an exclusive 7″ single of “Public Image” b/w “The Cowboy Song” sold during this year’s Record Store Day, which takes place Saturday, April 20th.

Pre-orders are currently available at Light in the Attic’s official site.
