Colin Stetson - New History Warfare Vol 3

Saxophone virtuoso Colin Stetson is streaming his new album New History Warfare Vol. 3: To See More Light one week ahead of its official release date (April 30th via Constellation Records). Take a listen at NPR.

The third and final installment in his New History Warfare trilogy, the album was recorded live in single takes and mixed by Ben Frost, an Australian composer who worked previously with Stetson on his 2011 album, Judges. Stetson also recruited Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon to appear as a guest “vocal presence” on four album tracks: “Brute”, “And In Truth”, “Who The Waves Are Roaring For”, and a cover of Washington Phillips’ gospel song “What Are They Doing In Heaven Today?”.
