The Love Language - Ruby Red

After three years of laying low, singer-songwriter Stuart McLamb returns with the third album from Love Language, Ruby Red. Due out on July 23rd via Merge Records, the follow-up to 2010’s Libraries features over 20 musicians and was recorded across several time zones.

McLamb, along with engineer BJ Burton, initially started the 10-track LP at Ruby Red, a Raleigh artist space, before relocating and finishing it in Black Mountain, NC. “Songs were scrawled with lungs full of mountain air, colored with spilled wine, and seasoned with the drawbars of a thrift store organ and tape echo,” states McLamb in an album announcement.

Our first taste of Ruby Red is the piercing and anthemic opening track, “Calm Down”. Listen in below.

Ruby Red Tracklist:
01. Calm Down
02. Kids
03. Hi Life
04. First Shot
05. Golden Age
06. For Izzy
07. Faithbreaker
08. On Our Heels
09. Knots
10. Pilot Light

Pre-orders are ongoing; the first 250 will receive a limited edition 11-song cassette called Black Mountain Demos.
