Queens of the Stone Age have unlocked a new video for “I Appear Missing”, the latest offering from their forthcoming sixth studio album, …Like ClockworkAnimated by UK artist Boneface, the macabre clip sparks flashbacks of Todd McFarlane’s late ’90s work for Pearl Jam and KoRn, introducing fans to a desolate, post-apocalyptic world that spans miles of sand and destruction for as long as the eye can see. Not even Mad Max or Roland Deschain could survive this glum terrain. To accompany the visuals, the song’s quite a downer, at least compared to their previously released single, “My God is the Sun”. Watch below.

Update: According to the band’s Facebook page, Dave Grohl drums on this track.

QOTSA’s new album …Like Clockwork features Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Elton John, Alex Turner, Mark Lanegan, and more, and is due out June 4th through Matador Records. Pre-orders are ongoing.
