It’s been a whirlwind of a month for The National. In support of their Top Star-earning new album, Trouble Will Find Me, the band has appeared on Fallon and Letterman, participated in a Reddit AMA, performed Sorrow for six hours straight, and even spent the day with our own Michael Roffman.
The band’s media blitz continued last night on The Colbert Report, where they performed “Graceless” and “Sea of Love”. Frontman Matt Berninger also sat down with Stephen Colbert for a brief interview, answering whether his own experiences inspired the album’s title, how the band came to be so hip, and the meaning of the band’s name. (Spoiler: Berninger has only experienced “average human trouble,” he’s 42 and thus not hip, and The National doesn’t mean anything.) It may sound otherwise, but the interview was hysterical.
Update: The video for “Sea of Love” is not working at the moment.
