As previously reported, ska-punkers Rx Bandits will commemorate the 1oth anniversary of their landmark album Resignation with an extensive summer tour. In further celebration, the band has announced the release of a five-track covers EP, which serves as their first recorded material in four years.

We’ve already heard their take of The Police’s “Can’t Stand Losing You” and Blonde Redhead’s “Falling Man”, and today the quartet tackle Weezer’s classic “Surf Wax America”.

“Ah Weezer, ubiquitous in mainstream rock music since all of us children of the 80’s were teenagers,” said guitarist Steven Choi of the song choice. “Our fans take us more seriously than we like to take ourselves so we wanted to do an easy, poppy song to show our musical range. All the cool kids like to claim Pinkerton, and I love that record too, but the Blue Album is stocked with bangers.”
