Watch Elvis Costello and Mumford & Sons cover Bruce Springsteen’s “The Ghost of Tom Joad”

on June 11, 2013, 12:15pm

While this writer eagerly awaits his collaborative LP with The Roots, the incomparable Elvis Costello recently joined forces with Mumford & Sons for a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s 1995 track “The Ghost of Tom Joad” (with just a hint of Woody Guthrie’s “Do Re Mi” tossed in). The all-star collaboration took place at last month’s Sasquatch! Festival as part of One Campaign’s new anti-poverty initiative agit8. Not only was it for a good cause, but the temporary super group (hereto referred to as Costello & Sons) created a truly pure moment, one that feels like a bunch of bros jammin’ out in the wilderness in the name of camaraderie and good tunes.
