Nothankyou is the new collaborative project of Dirty Projectors member Olga Bell and multi-instrumentalist/post-punker Tom Vek. Together, they create abstract indie-pop — the kind that veers off the formulaic pop path, stumping and surprising at each of its whimsical turns. “Oyster”, which follows their debut single “Know Yourself”, is an apt representation of this, showcasing the duo’s ability to gel ambitious and somewhat scatterbrained arrangements into one smart, cohesive sound. From loopy, digi-based effects to explosive female vocals, it’s not unlike something St. Vincent might conjure up.

Both “Oyster and “Know Yourself” are due out digitally and as a limited edition 7″ on August 5th via Moshi Moshi.
