Islands is one of the world’s most premier rock and roll bands, and they have the star-studded documentary to prove it. In support of their latest album, Ski Mask, Nick Diamond and Co. teamed with Michael Cera’s YouTube network JASH to create an absolutely hilarious short entitled Rock and Roll Legends Present: Islands.

A bit of This Is Spinal Tap-meets-VH1’s Behind The Music, it features a who’s who of comedians as fictional players in the band’s Universe, including Cera as former bandmate Ted Roosevelt (Cera was in Diamond’s Mister Heavenly side project); Bill Hader as manager Jeff Spiegel; Joe Lo Truglio as a foul-mouthed music critic Jason Davis; and Alia Shawkat as “Alexis Sims, daughter of serial killer.”

The laughs are a plenty, here are some of my favorite lines:

— “I think, as a therapist, you can give of yourself sexually to your patients” (Group therapist Dr. Lisa Rowe)

— “Ski Mask comes out, people shit their pants.” (Ted Roosevelt)

— “There’s only three bands in the world that really matter: Uncle Craker, Smash Mouth, Matchbox Twenty, and Islands.” (Disc jockey David Matthews)

— “Islands: these guys know… how to get my pussy wet.” (Jason Davis)

— “I talked to Nick, and after an hour and a half I cut off my ponytail. My dad and uncles died with their PTs on.” (Roadie Colton Rogers)

Ski Mask is out now via Diamond’s own Manqué imprint. In support, the band is on tour next month. Consult the full schedule below.
