In between meticulously assembling his fantasy basketball lineup, Noah Benjamin Lennox, a.k.a. Panda Bear, found time to write and record new music for his wife Fernanda Pereira’s clothing line. Some of Lennox’s first solo material since 2011’s Tomboy, the five-minute piece soundtracks a promotional video directed by Joana Linda for Pereira’s upcoming spring/summer 2014 line, “DESPERSONALIZAÇÃO / the stretch of life”.
According to Linda, the video’s concept involves a “reflection of contrasting experiences, (where) depersonalization is a sentimental moment of transformation, and where the actual abstraction cause disruptions.” Keeping with the uber abstract theme, Lennox’s music undulates between bizarre aesthetics, from a gentle piano ballad to minimalist dub and even something akin to shimmery trip-hop.
