Calgary art-rockers Women split up back in 2010, just a few months after releasing their well-received sophomore record, Public Strain. The band never did return to its original form, and after last year’s passing of guitarist Christopher Reimer, it never will. However, the remaining members have taken up other various projects, the latest being guitarist/vocalist Patrick Flegel’s new outfit called Androgynous Mind. (Looks like someone’s a fan of Sonic Youth.)
Flegel is joined by Morgan Cook and together they’re prepping their debut EP, Nightstalker, due out December 9th via Faux Discx. In anticipation, the duo’s revealed “Knock On My Door”, a trembling, lo-fi creeper of a cut. Somewhat of an update on the Women sound, it sees spooky fuzziness slithering amongst glowing melodies.
