Vancouver power-punk outfit White Lung return today with “Down With You”, the B-side to their forthcoming “Blow It South” 7″ single. Whereas its accompanying track skillfully bridged the murky river between scary and sexy, “Down With You” eschews some of that inherent sensuality for more outright hostility. Amid the increasingly ferocious avalanche of drums and searing guitar, lead singer Mish Way’s spiteful croon, like Debbie Harry fronting a speed metal band, turns a simple chorus (“I wanna ride/Down with you”) into a complex sentiment stuck somewhere between an aggressive come-on and a full-on threat against your life. Listen in below.
“Blow It South” b/w “Down With You” has three release dates: October 28th digitally, in the US on November 5th from Deranged, and Nov. 11th via Sexbeat in the UK.
