Listen: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.’s new song “Rush Into Love” featuring Chuck Inglish and Slim

on January 28, 2014, 6:47pm

Detroit electro-pop duo Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. will try their hand at R&B on their upcoming mixtape, Produce. The new release, which follows sophomore album The Speed of Things, features guests from all across the R&B/hip-hop spectrum, including Cool Kids’ Chuck Inglish, Murs, Asher Roth, and Slim from ’90s hit act 112.

While the pairing seems a bit out-of-place, “Rush Into Love”, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.’s collaboration with Inglish and Slim, actually works. Bright, colorful synths coat the bubbly track, making even the rapped verses and silky vox sound pretty whimsical and borderline twee. It’s one of those songs you might hear on the radio circa 1997 that’ll make you go “Huh?” due to its genre-blurring elements, but also ’cause you kinda can’t help binging on its overly saccharine vibes. Check it out below.

Produce is due out soon.
